Back in 2005, Dax Rozell had a vision that was probably considered crazy by usual business standards: build a junk removal company that actually treats people like neighbors instead of transaction numbers. People doubted him, doubted it would work, doubted it was needed, and then so many started copying him.

He started MrJunk® right here in Columbia, Missouri, with the simple promise that we’d do all the lifting, loading, and hauling so you don’t have to. That’s right, others can claim they have been here as long, but it wouldn’t be true, Dax was the first on the scene.

Back in 2005, Dax Rozell started MrJunk® with a truck and a dream of keeping Missouri cleaner and greener. Since then, he married Jenn (aka MrsJunk), and together they’ve been growing both their family and company at breakneck speed. The Rozell household now includes Maddox, Elle, Lainy, and Ruger—four beautiful and talented kids who’ve definitely inherited their dad’s positive attitude and entrepreneurial spirit.


Dax has grown MrJunk® from that single Columbia truck to over 100 locations across Missouri and Illinois, with nationwide expansion on the horizon. Instead of going the expensive franchise route that hits new owners with massive upfront fees, he created a licensing model that lets passionate people join the team without breaking the bank—keeping costs low for customers, area owners happy, and ensuring every location delivers 5-star service to homeowners, businesses, and municipalities. Not bad for a guy who started with one truck and a really good idea!

Dax is the guy who started this whole adventure over 20 years ago, and he’s still the heart and soul of MrJunk® today. As a Columbia native with deep family roots in central Missouri, he built MrJunk® around the simple idea that junk removal should be about helping people, not just moving stuff around.

You’ll often see Dax’s kids and family helping out around the operation — because when you’re family-owned, everyone pitches in. Chris joined the MrJunk® family in 2022 as our Lake Ozark Area Owner and has expanded to over 45 towns, villages, and surrounding communities with an incredible crew. Here’s the thing about Chris: he and Dax have been friends for over 25 years, which basically makes him family at this point. As a family man through and through, Chris has two beautiful daughters in college who keep him on his toes—so managing a growing junk removal operation probably feels like a vacation!

In 2023, he and his wife Linnsi made the big move to Alton, Illinois with their newborn Kinsley, transitioning from crew member to area owner while juggling new parenthood.

Trevor has quickly expanded his operation from Alton into over 40 locations, growing both his crew and territory to cover the entire Metro St. Louis/Illinois area, all the way out to St. Charles and Lake St. Louis. When the opportunity came to expand into Illinois and the St. Louis region, Trevor and his wife Lindsey packed up their family, moved to Godfrey, Illinois, and brought the MrJunk® standard of excellence across state lines.

Now Trevor covers everything from Alton and Edwardsville to St. Louis, O’Fallon, and all the communities in between. He’s known for bringing humor, hustle, and serious organizational skills to every job site. If you’ve ever seen a MrJunk® review response with emojis and dad jokes, that’s probably Trevor.

Trevor’s the guy who once removed 47 king and queen-size mattresses from a single motel (apparently every room was getting a fast upgrade), and he somehow managed to fit them all in the truck with room to spare. His secret weapons? Strategic Tetris skills and the ability to make even the most stressed-out customers laugh during their worst cleanup days.
